When preparing to serve customers beverages in the Den, take note of whether the bartender is present. If the bartender is present, be sure to convey all of the requirements that the customer has told you about their preferred beverage, so that he can prepare it properly for you. If the customer specifically tells you to prepare the beverage, or you feel that level of personal service is required, inform the bartender of such when you come to the bar so that he can allow you to do so. The bartender is not there to usurp your duties as a slave, but to assist and augment them. In addition, the bartender can be used as a resource to learning how to prepare various drinks properly, if you require such knowledge.
Ramius Rathorne - Current Bartender
((OOC: I usually post arriving for a shift, but I can also be prodded to head into the Den for a scene if I'm online))
Mod Edit:
Although Ramius is not the bartender of the Den in Sanctuary, the instructions are still apt.
Tyson is currently filling in as bartender, until a regular replacement is hired.

Remember, ALL free are to be addressed as Master or Mistress, unless they command you otherwise.

For reference, during the course of the bartender's duties, these are the lessons that the bartender can assist with:
Serving ~ Lesson #1: Basic Drinks (preparation of and learning of what to ask to know how to prepare the drink)
Serving ~ Lesson #2 ~ Informal Food Service (knowledge of drinks that can be paired with food, plus how to serve drinks with food)
Serving ~ Lesson #3 ~ Formal food and drink service (service of drinks in such settings. Preparation, if required)
The bartender can be consulted to give pointers or commentary on how well one is applying the lessons below:
General Information ~ Lesson #1 ~ Basic EtiquetteGeneral Information ~ Lesson #2 ~ Speaking as a slaveGeneral Information ~ Lesson #4 ~ Serving PointersGeneral Information ~ Lesson #5 ~ Moving like a slaveThe positions and commands below are the ones most likely used around the bartender while she or he is working.
Basic positions Lesson #1 ~ NaduBasic Positions Lesson #2 ~ ObeisanceBasic Positions Lesson #3 ~ TowerBasic commands and modalities Lesson #1 ~ HeelThis does not mean that the bartender cannot assist with other lessons. It's just likely that such assistance would be outside the norm for dealing with the bartender, or would take the bartender away from their duties.
Remember, the bartender is not a slave. The bartender is a free person that works for your Mistress for salary. They are paid to focus on the preparation of bar items so that you can efficiently serve the free. They are there to help you serve.
