Moreta's main bio

Name: Moreta
Race: Lupine/Shape Shifter/Demon (formerly a Dwarven Lupine)
Age: Immortal (Appears around 30)

Appearance and traits:
Moreta is short, curvy, muscular and beautiful, with an agility that belies her
stature.
She has long, curly, flowing red hair and deep brown eyes that change to violet or glow amber or red
at times, depending on her mood.
She is a fierce warrior and passionate about life and love, though she tends to be
quite fickle! She has a generous and helpful nature, but many years of hardship and
loss have hardened her and given her an evil streak that runs deep and wide, coming
to the surface and striking, often without warning. She is absolutely dedicated to
those who are loyal to her and her cause, but is a deadly foe to those who oppose
her or her followers.

Life Story:
Moreta started life in the caverns of Qexelcrag, home to the Dwarven folk.
As she grew up, she strove to be an asset to her family and community, working hard
in the mines, helping others, respecting her elders and looking after the wee ones,
but eventually, she realized that she was... "different", somehow. At puberty, she began to develop remarkable senses of hearing and smell for a Dwarf and found herself able to traverse the caves and rugged terrain with an
ease unlike any of her friends and family. She was able to mine faster than anyone
because of this and had an amazing ability to scent out gold and other treasures,
helping her family and community to grow far more affluent.

For no reason she could understand though, rather than appreciating her efforts,
most of the other dwarves shunned her. They made fun of her when her eyes glowed amber and seemed afraid of her abilities.

Distressed, she went to her parents, who finally told her the truth. Her father was
really her stepfather, and she was a result of a brief fling her mother had with a
handsome Lupine lad before meeting and marrying the only father she had ever known.

Feeling that there was no place for her in Qexelcrag, and with her parents' sad
blessings, she promised to keep in touch and set out for the fabled encampment of Thundarulf, hoping
to find her Lupine family and gain the acceptance that she craved.

After days of travel, she was finally able to hitch a ride with a wagon the rest of
the way to the outskirts of the forest, a mere two days' hike from the Ancestral Lupine Encampment. She arrived, weary and bedraggled, only to be met with
suspicion and fear by these Wolven people, to whom she bore even less physical
resemblance than to her Dwarven kin. Undaunted, she sought out her father's home
and introduced herself to him.
Thankfully, Tristaine welcomed his long lost daughter with open arms, declaring that
she would always have a place in his spacious home. He had never married, so
distraught was he over the disappearance of the only girl he had ever loved, the
beautiful Dwarven Eiluanda, Moreta's mother. Delighted to hear that she was safe and
happy, though saddened that she was married, he insisted on sending a messenger
fairy dragon to convey word that Moreta had arrived safely, along with a powerful, protective amulet as a token of his good will and belated congratulations on
Eiluanda's marriage.

After a much needed meal, bath and good night's sleep, Tristaine revealed that he
was the Sovereign Alpha of the Lupine Clans and that she was heiress to his throne.
That very morning, he took her out among his peoples to introduce their future
Pack Leader and Sovereign Alpha to them, amidst much cheering and revelry.

Unsure of how to get used to being royalty after her unassuming upbringing in
Qexelcrag, but determined to be the best she could and do right by those who would
eventually be her subjects, she studied dutifully under her father's chief advisers,
weapons masters, tacticians and magicians, learning the ways of leadership and
furthering her skills as a warrior. She soon became a formidable fighter, well known
across the realm for her heroic deeds.

For several years, she lived happily in the Lupine village, travelling often to visit
with her Dwarven parents or to stay in the great city of Thebes, until the fateful
day she received word that both her mother and beloved stepfather had been killed in
a massive mine cave in. Stricken, she made one final trek to Qexelcrag to pay her
last respects, then vowed never again to return to the city of her youth, as her
parents were the only ones who didn't treat her differently as her Lupine
characteristics became more apparent.

Upon her return to the Encampment, she found nothing but smouldering rubble
where her father's village had been and when she was able to locate a few survivors,
she learned that a rouge band of humans, with a contingent of embonded ghouls had
sacked the village while its citizens slept, enslaving those who pleased them,
slaying the rest, young and old alike, and burning everything to the ground while
they looked on, too afraid to take any action to try and stop them. They told her of
her father's valiant efforts to save his people before he was struck down, manacled
and tortured to death. All who tried to help him met with a similar fate.

Overcome with grief and determined to exact revenge, Moreta did what she could to
help the remaining Lupines rebuild, appointed the most able seeming to act in her
stead as ruler and set out once again on her own to destroy all who had had a hand in her father's brutal murder.

She did, eventually, mete out her revenge, but it was, in many respects, a hollow "victory".
It seemed that everywhere she went, there was death, hardship, and destruction, to include being kidnapped and enslaved on a strange world.
At some point along the way, she began to wonder what point there was to trying to remain good, or even maintain a balance. It
was then that she abandoned her resolve to do only good, and began to flirt more and
more with darkness, until she was as evil as any demonspawn. Over time, she lost sight of
all but the barest vestiges of her Lupine and Dwarven heritage, becoming
increasingly demonic and finally gained the rank of Archdemon. Many times, she
found herself in the shades, having had another brush with death and she quickly
found herself much in the favour of Ramius, Overlord of Death, who gifted her with
immortality. Using the powers granted her in death, she became more powerful than ever.

Meanwhile, her skills as a renowned warrior stood her in good stead in Thebes, and
she quickly amassed great personal fortune and status to go with her colossal
powers and used her fortunes and status to form her own clan, The Khaos WolfDen, and settled down to make a life for herself in
Thebes.

Those who joined her found that they too, advanced in power and wealth as long as
they stood in loyalty to their indomitable tribe leader. Those who opposed her and
her followers soon found their own suffering.

After 30 years in Thebes, however, the city and the lands surrounding it were slated for destruction, leaving the villagers no choice to take what belongings they could and seek out new homes.

Thus began the journey which led her to
Lyrean.

Moreta spend nearly a century in Lyrean, and came back to herself, as well as learning a great deal about who she truly was, as she made lasting friendships and allowed herself to love again. Though still counted by all Holy types as nothing but evil, it was no longer that simple. She had learned to trust a chosen few. She put down roots again, and was, when all was said and done, happy in Lyrean.

She truly thought that it would be her permanent home. Little did she know that it would one day simply vanish from existence, with no trace.
She woke one morning to find herself on the road leading to her home. Where Lyrean once was, there was nothing - No village, no ruins, not even the jungle - no sign that it had ever even been there at all.
No one knows what happened or if Lyrean will ever return.

Once again, having lost nearly everything... Her home, her business, her slaves, many friends and loved ones, she and her loyal servant, Tyson, set out with the clothing on their backs and meagre contents of their pouches and packs, and journeyed far and wide. After several years of travel she became weary of the road, and sought some place to call home, if only for a while. They passed through many realms, but none felt like even a temporary home, until finally, just by chance, they happened upon a place called
Sanctuary.
